Sunday, 7 December 2025, Sunday shopping in Sihlcity (Zurich)

Where the Sihl paper factory once stood, Sihlcity has been created as an urban shopping and leisure district in Zurich. Parts of the industrial architecture, brickwork, boiler house and striking chimney have been preserved and now stand alongside steel and glass. Before Christmas, a tree house construction will be added to the inner courtyard. Whatever the weather, we find motifs both indoors and outdoors. On this Sunday, when the shops are open, the Sihlcity site is particularly lively. It’s a great opportunity to capture movement, people and urban scenes.

Meeting point: Outside on the plaza, at the Vapiano entrance.

Please bring your own drawing materials and, ideally, a small folding stool. No prior experience required. We sketch for about 2 hours, solo or in small groups. Afterwards we regroup, share our sketches and take a group photo. As always, we follow the Urban Sketchers values:
